Yoganada was born in 1893 and died in 1952.
Hailed as the Father of Yoga in the West,
his book, titled: Autobiography of a Yogi,
which he wrote here in Encinitas (©1946),
has been translated into 18 languages,

and was selected one of the 100 Best Spiritual Books of the Century,
It still appears on Best Seller lists after more than 50 years in print.
